I enjoyed the first two books, though the heroine could occasionally be annoyingly indecisive. But by book 3 here (Fracture), she had taken this to a whole new level...enough that the book was mostly irritating. Throughout the book, she reverted to the exact same behavior she had grown out of in the very beginning of book 1, made endlessly annoying decisions, and is still completely incapable of making any real choice or understanding anything at all about a relationship. Stop waffling and decide between Carter and Sylvain already. Argh! Seriously girl, learn to tell people your feelings! And another serious bone to pick here - why on earth does NO ONE CARRY A WEAPON?? All sorts of violence happening, attacks, self defense training, ultra security, but not a single gun, and almost no knives...really?
*Spoiler alert*
And where it really got to me - Raj and his 100 security guards decide to follow Allie's plan to rescue Rachel at the castle ruins, but not a one of them brings a sniper rifle to protect Allie while she is playing bait to free Rachel? Not a single gun that can shoot Nathaniel or Gabe? Or shoot down the helicopter? Hell, no one even thinks to shove one or both of them into the tail rotors of the copter? *sigh*

Wow just finished the whole series and what a journey this night schools has been on glad to finally know the ending but sad it ended. Very happy on who she finally choose she loved!!! took her long enough but super happy she choose him. I won't say his name I don't want to give that part away for those who haven't finished the series. If you are looking for a series that keeps you on your toes and can't wait to see what happens next this series is for you. I would have liked more romance between Allie and the boy she finally pick but that's not that kind of series. I hope there will be another book to this series one day and there will be more of Allie and her boyfriend story now that she finally chosen him.
Overview It has been eight weeks since the death of Jo and Allie saved herself from a kidnapping. Everyone is moving on, but Allie. She is determined to find those responsible for her friend's death, but she can't do it alone or tucked away at school. Allie plans to make her escape, and is successful until she stops for the night with an old friend. Caught and hauled back to school, she is reprimanded by both the Headmistress and her grandmother. In order to be protected, she has to stay in school. In order to stay in school she MUST follow the rules. Angry, she obliges as she sees the instructors and body guards are somewhat actively looking for the traitor(s). One night she thinks she sees an intruder, and heads off to catch him, but it was only a guard. Then she begins to suspect the sweet librarian, and "evil" history teacher later. Not knowing who to trust, she realizes she needs to trust someone. She gathers a group of five friends, and they hold their own investigation as the teachers mysteriously disappear. With the instructors away, chaos ensues when a student is forcibly taken from school and they find out the board members are going to begin pulling out their children. Formulating a plan to keep those who want to stay at the school there, and trying to find the informant, on top of keeping up with her studies and detention are proving a bit much for Allie and she becomes increasingly more emotional. Finally she erupts on Raj Patel, head of the guards, and finally gets the teachers back. Everything seems to settle down and go back to normal as no one else has been pulled from school. Just as Allie and her friends start to relax, a mass amount of butlers arrive to take children home. Students begin running for hiding places and some of the group is separated. Allie and Rachel go offer help and are separated themselves, and before Allie realizes that the butlers are not who they say they are, Rachel disappears. Allie then receives specific instructions to meet Nathanial if she wishes to keep Rachel alive. Formulating another plan, they head out to save their friend. There is an epic battle and Nathanial slips through their fingers, once again.
Review I would have to say, my favorite of the series so far. Non-stop action, feeling Allie's pain and confusion as she goes through everything to save her school, friends and love life. She is brought to her breaking point a few times and we struggle through it with her and see how much she has changed...or not changed since she first came to school.
Some spoilers included....The first book wasn't too bad. It was about Allie getting into trouble and being sent to night school. I liked how her character developed and the romance wasn't too bad. I was rooting for the French guy but then she ended up going for the uneventful Carter who was an orphan and penniless. Then the second book brought about her breaking up with Carter. I liked how Allie started learning to defend herself and the potential of her being with the French guy which she had better chemistry with. So even though the traitor/spy haven't been discovered I was okay since there was actions and romance. Then at the 3rd book, it went downhill. It repeated Allie acting up again like the first 13% of the book because she blamed herself on something that happened at the end of book two. This was a deja vu on how book one started Allie reverting back on being a troublemaker. TOTALLY turned me off. What a disappointment. It would have been better if Allie kick ass attitude continued instead she was a Winer and had blame me attitude. Worst was the book focus on trying to figure out who was the spy and of course no romance at all. All it showed is how Carter moved on to another girl so easily and how Allie started having feelings for him again after how quickly he moved on. Come on, this just killed my interest. I was hoping that this book was not going to be a filler. I wanted to see Allie's romance developed with the hot French guy along with her developing on self defense and on learning who the spy was. I am not following this series anymore. I just ended up flipping the pages. Worst part is the cost of the book not being consistent. Finally, the spy was never found in the end. Wasted reading and I don't recommend this book.
