I bought this for 99 cents because the first couple of pages seemed to be pretty fun. It kind of went on like that, pretty much;it's a very light, easy read and not too bad for what it is, I guess. Maybe if I had the time machine from the story, though, I'd go back and not buy it. I see that so far, no one else has given it less than three stars, and I wouldn't either, except for some major deal breakers on my suspension of disbelief.
(SPOILERS)
First of all, a guy from 1912 gets hold of a time machine, jail-breaks it, and re-engineers it to be much better than before. Then he also figures out how to operate, and even hack, 2012 computers and networks-- and those of 2112 as well. That's a bit too much for me.
What's even worse, though, is that there is this real, proper, good sized space habitat that's home to thousands of people, and it gets hit by an asteroid that evidently no one saw coming. In the 22nd century, if we have proper space habitats, or even if we don't, I have to think we'd have not only the ability to spot asteroids coming a long way off, but the means to do something about them.In this case, you wouldn't even have to deflect the asteroid, just move the habitat a little bit, or evacuate it.
And then, after the asteroid sideswipes the habitat, it's doomed, but everyone on board thinks it's fine, no problem, minor damage, and they don't even go on alert or even consider evacuation or any emergency measures whatever-- until our heroine sneaks into the command center, pretends to be from the Central Committee government, and then they go, oh well, in that case, sure, we'll all just get in the escape pods right now. So they don't see the asteroid coming. Then they don't even worry about it. Then they listen to this complete upstart impostor who isn't even supposed to be on the habitat. Four strikes and out.
The ending is pretty sappy too. Also, the heroine is, best I can tell, supposed to be about 26, and an intrepid, experienced time traveler, but she reads like 17. The basic idea wasn't bad, the writing is not bad at all, but there's just too much dumb.
I sort of think I'm being too generous giving two stars, but then when I think about how bad some other things are that I'd give one star, I guess this is better than those. This could have been a lot better, though.

A fun read, action moves quickly, interesting characters, and the logic works.
I liked the plot, the pace, and the solution was very elegant. A nice romp through time, both backwards and forward.
I really enjoyed this time travel novella! Perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
She calls her writing speculative fiction. She has speculated every refreshing and enjoyable tale. Time travel mixed with an ingenius twist or two on the Titanic disaster. I look forward to more of this thpught provoking speculation.
A delightful story! I really enjoyed reading it, and could not stop till I finished. Different from the average-a good story.
Loved this read.
As someone who has always enjoyed stories that involve time, this story happily met all of my expectations and then some. Great job Wendy.
This is a quick read but it's not fluff, by any means. It has plenty of humor, but it also deals with the very real ethical issues that would come up if people could travel through time. In the end, it's quite poignant. I definitely plan to read the next book in the series.
